Where to start? First, it's a beautiful lake..... But we made the mistake of getting a lot at Tent Hill, a semi modern RV site. Well it's tent sites where you can park your RV in a parking space in the parking lot, all marked off for each site, and connect your electric and water, if your cords are long enough. There are no showers and the bathroom is a very nice looking outhouse, no lights and very dirty. They have much better sites for RVs, we saw them when we got lost trying to find our section. Which brings me to the directions. The gentlemen in the office gave directions as if I'd lived here all my life, making it sound like it was around the corner. It was miles away. We got lost and happened to find it. Their maps suck. Later a very nice lady came by and checked on us, we were the only ones in the section.
We booked this last minute; found a spot right on the water! Fishing was good. The park was clean, and the bugs weren't too bad! Wish we would have known about the golf course next door! We took the dogs, and the stickers weren't that bad! Restrooms were clean. Playground was nice for the kids in between fishing!
I camped at the Flagpole tent sites. This camping trip was going well until I got attacked by bees. I have been to Fort Cobb many many times before without any issues with bees. I called the park office to let them know and someone came by to check it out. He said they probably couldn't do anything since honey bees are protected. But they did let me switch my campsite to an available site nearby. Other than that it was a great trip. I saw several police officers and park rangers patrolling the area which I was gelrestful for since I am a woman camping alone.
The lake & campgrounds are great, but there are stickers. Please bring shoes.
It's a very pretty area, but we came here to hike and there's only 1 trail :( This state park is more for fishing and camping, but it's beautiful.
A playground or two, a little swim beach looking area and bathrooms. Half of them were still locked up and it's April so that was disappointing.
The trail was nice and had beautiful views, just not enough trails. Beautiful spot to spend a day
A little bit disappointed there is not a designated, official swimming beach area. We ended up swimming at Sycamore day use area. Shallow waters here, but a lot of big boats parking around here.
We went there for the hiking, and looking for a Geocashe. There's one hiking trail about 3 milies, we found one Geocashe. It's a pretty easy hike for a family with Dogs. Parking is 10.00 for day, 8.00 if you like in Oklahoma. Your parking pass lasts 24 hours. The bathrooms were clean. We went off season, so parts of the Park were "closed for the season". It was still nice going off season. We were the only people there. There were lots of tables for picnics.
Very nice camping spot. I was there for two weeks and spent just over $700 in the outlying towns. The park will not let anyone stay over two weeks, even though the camground was completely empty.
I stopped in the office to learn something about their reservation system. Three times during my conversation with the lady behind the desk. She reminded me that I could only stay two weeks. I am a senior citizen, I am not slow, and I do not have memory problems. I felt like she talk to me like I was a child.
The man that works weekends is very nice
